Then and Now: Marlborough Rd

Give trees 100 years, and they really fill in the space! This Then and Now was taken on Marlborough Rd between Beverley & Albemarle.

You can still find one of the original street signs for this area, known as Prospect Park South, on the corner of Marlborough & Albemarle, in the shadow of a giant elm tree on the corner-lot property of an Oscar-nominated actress (who I won’t name here).

Dean Alvord, who developed Prospect Park South, changed the street names from the usual numbers and letters (this formerly being the corner of Ave A & 16th St) to make them sound fancier. Albemarle and Marlborough are both streets in London
